Recruitment

The Interfraternal Council (IFC) holds its Formal Rush periods during the 1 st full week of the Fall and Spring quarters.   Greek Letter organizations set up informational booths during these weeks and also host events during this time period.

Rush is an opportunity for you to visit different Fraternities and assimilate yourself with distinct organizations. You are encouraged to visit as many booths as possible to find out what fraternity is your best match.

Rush is a time for you to experience a little taste of fraternity life and find a group of men with whom you can become friends. It can be a real experience for everyone involved and for you the "rushee." Every formal rush period, each fraternity participates in Rush and selects quality men for their respective fraternities. It is not a "coolness" or popularity contest. It is a chance for you to become part of a society that promotes academics, community service, and brotherhood. Most everyone who rushes will find a group of men that best represents their ideals and personalities and yet have the diversification that each and every fraternity on our campus represents.

Rush Events

During Rush, you attend the different events a fraternity hosts. Listed below are Rush events that are common for all Greek organizations on Campus, these however are not all of the events a fraternity will have during rush week.

Information Night

This is an informative event that allows you the potential rush a chance to ask questions and find out any information you have yet to receive

Interviews

This is where the Fraternity gets to find out a little about yourself and who you are.

Dinner

This is held during the end of the Rush Week and is extended to those Rush's who are invited.

Bid Day

A Bid is a formal invitation to join a Fraternity; this is given out to you if the Fraternity you are interested in concludes that you are a good fit for their particular chapter. You may or may not receive a Bid, and you also might receive multiple bids from Chapters, in this case you will have to choose which organization is best for you.
