Brotherhood
Beta Chi Theta provides a home away from home for its members. Members in this fraternity work together to uphold the principles of this fraternity. The primary difference between joining an on campus club and joining a Greek letter organization is the unique bond that exists between the members of a Fraternity. The Brothers of Beta Chi Theta share a unique brotherhood that encompasses over 500 Men nationwide. Every year the Brothers of Beta Chi Theta hold an annual retreat in Lake Arrowhead where active brothers and alumni come together. In addition, a National Convention is held every year to solidify the creation of our unified nationwide network. Every year, our chapter gets the opportunity to meet our brothers from across the nation and share ideas and visions of our future within Beta Chi Theta and beyond. This year, the convention is being held in San Francisco, California. On a smaller scale, every quarter our chapter holds a formal dinner along with brotherhood events throughout the year. Membership in this organization allows you to build bonds that do not end with a diploma but will carry on for a lifetime.
Service to Humanity
You don't need to look farther then Beta Chi Theta to disprove the stereotypes of hazing and partying that invalidly characterize Greek Men. The Brothers of Beta Chi Theta find community service to be an invaluable experience and a necessary act in society.
We uphold our pillar of Service to Humanity every year; Beta Chi Theta at Cal Poly Pomona has dedicated over 2,000 hours to those in need this past year. The Brothers of Beta Chi Theta have donated over $500 to the Red Cross and the Indian Earthquake relief fund. Each year brothers serve Thanksgiving Dinner to those in need. For the past two years Beta Chi Theta at Cal Poly Pomona has partaken in a 24 hour walk to fundraise money for Cancer. Belonging to a close knit network of over 500 college men nationwide definitely has its perks. The Gentleman of Beta Chi Theta belong to some of the most prestigious Universities all over the nation. From Coast to Coast, Border to Border, you are unlikely to find yourself out of contact range from Brothers across the country. This network gives you a favorable advantage in diverse areas including the job market, business endeavors, your local community or even further education pursuits. With a network that is growing every passing quarter, more and more opportunities lie in the midst of this organization. Members are diverse in their educational backgrounds ranging from Medicine to Law; We are Doctors, Attorneys, Athletes, Engineers, Teachers, Actors, Scientists, Wall Street Investors, Writers, Business Owners, and much much more. But at the end of the day we all belong to the same brotherhood of Beta Chi Theta. And that makes the world of difference.
Academic Excellence
Beta Chi Theta believes academics to be the primary aspect of any members' college life. After all, that is the reason we are attending this University. Our chapters maintain the highest GPA's at their host institution and prove to be a testament to the commitment to Academic enrichment Beta Chi Theta holds for all of its members. Maintaining such a high GPA is a lot easier with the support network that this fraternity gives you. With study sessions, tutoring/mentoring programs, forums and discussions, we never cease to aid our members in their academic development.
South Asian Awareness
Though Beta Chi Theta has proven to be one of the most diverse fraternities at Cal Poly Pomona we make it a point to broadcast South Asian heritage. Every year our brothers whom come from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds, host along side the Indian Student Association, Diwali Garba, a cultural event. Along with hosting this event our brothers are involved in the annual Culture Show hosted by the Indian Student Association. South Asian Awareness is a pillar every brother in this fraternity is proud of, but we are also proud that we are rich in culture, boasting members from Europe, The Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The fact that we celebrate our diverse heritage leads to the involvement of our Greek men with many different cultural associations.
Tradition
Here at Beta Chi Theta we are constantly innovating and reinventing ourselves. But with that there comes a responsibility of maintaining a rich tradition that has developed and maintained this immense fraternity and unique brotherhood. We consistently look for new ideas and always keep an open mind but still pay homage respect to our past, and our tradition of excellence that has made this fraternity what it is today.
